CBO Score and Budget Reveals Trump Agenda: “A con job on working Americans”
This week, policy coming out of Washington meant huge costs for working families.
WASHINGTON – Jonathan Schleifer, the executive director of The Fairness Project, released the following statement today after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its analysis of the Affordable Health Care Act (Trumpcare). The CBO score comes one day after President Trump released a flawed and heartless budget. Taken together, Trumpcare 2.0 and the budget would gut health care and vital programs that help millions of hard-working Americans live a decent life.
“There’s no sugar coating the fact that President Trump and Congressional Republicans have orchestrated one of the biggest con jobs on working Americans in our history. Any hope that the President would deliver on his promises to restore jobs and and protect healthcare for millions went out the window this week, with massive cuts to programs and benefits that support working families coupled with unnecessary tax breaks for the wealthy.”
